A huge thanks to the team that organised the Countryfile Ramble for BBC children in Need 2017 on Sunday 15th October at Ladybelt Country Park, they raised £50 for this worthwhile cause.
Following the first consultation a recommendation has been made to change the parish boundary which would move Lower East Carleton to Swardeston parish.
The parish council would welcome the views of residents on this proposal before its next meeting on 28th September 2017 when its comments will be discussed and agreed.
There is a further opportunity to express your views to South Norfolk Council on its website at https://www.south-norfolk.gov.uk/CGReview until 27 October 2017
The parish council held an extraordinary meeting on 6th April 2017 which was attended by representatives from Highways England. Attendees raised their concerns about the potential re connection of Cantley Lane and Cantley Lane South and the problems it would likely cause due to increased flow of traffic.
A suggestion was put forward by 2 residents for an alternative to enable traffic to access Norwich which solve many local issues and give direct access for the commercial vehicles in Station Lane to access Norwich much more easily saving them time and money. The result would be that Cantley Lane South would become a dead end or cul-de-sac. Pedestrian access would need to be maintained via a footbridge and additional access was requested to the Park and Ride site for the residents of Cantley Lane.
The proposed scheme to access the A11 from an interchange at Station Lane is available to view below
